Periodontal surgery :

Most people suffer from some form of gum disease. It is the major cause of tooth loss in adults. The disease develops very slowly in most people starting from the gums then spreading to the underlying bone around the tooth. It is caused by accumulation of plaque and tartar which are caused by poor oral hygiene habits.

Treatment of gingivitis and periodontitis (gum and bone disease) can be:

   Non-surgical : Cleaning
   Surgical : Flap surgery

Gum Grafting

Flap surgery is done under local anaesthesia. The gums around the tooth are separated and the area cleaned to remove plaque and tartar. A bone graft is placed if needed and gum flaps are sutured back into place.
Gum graft surgery is done to repair gum recession and to prevent additional recession and bone loss. This can be done for one tooth or several teeth to even your gum line and reduce sensitivity.
At Toothville, we have a highly experienced Periodontist who performs this surgery . This is a painless procedure done under local anaesthesia, in a single sitting.
